Day 1 Post
Let me share with you a S'pore short story. Based on true facts.
Date: 04Oct'08
Venue: in the lift of our HDB block.
Time: 11am
Cast: im2saxy - as himself; auntie #A - as herself; ah-neh foreign worker - as himself.
Scene#1: auntie #A was already in the lift when i entered the lift 2 go 2 skool for intensive lesson in MIS. Lift stopped @ 5th floor, followed by 4th floor. @ 4th floor, ah-neh was holding on 2 his wheelburrow of bricks and cement debris, which I assume was meant for HDB upgrading project. Ah-neh was about 2 heave & push his wheelburrow, when auntie #A *tsk*tsk* & pressed 'Door Close' immedaitely. Ah-neh was barred from entering the lift!? Ah-neh looked @ me and wave 'it's ok' with his usual had-shaking style (if you are familar with ah-neh's habit). Ah-neh's expression was mixed with apologetic & tired look.
So auntie #A shut him out bcos he is ah-neh!!! WTF!? Ah-neh was not human-enough 2 take the same lift? This is our true-blue S'porean HDB dwellers who think they are better class than foreign workers. So what if ah-nehs dun smell good? Btw, do u expect anybody 2 smell good in a day's worth of hard labour? Would any of us be living in our self-centred HDB flat if not the hard work by these ah-nehs? What an ass being an auntie...I only have respectful vulgarity for my fellow 'neighbour' auntie #A...BITCH!
